Law firm search engine optimization is the practice of using a search engine like Google or Bing to drive more leads and traffic to your website. The goal is to obtain keyword rankings that will result in signed cases for your firm.
No agency in the world can guarantee website rankings. If they do, then it’s probably a scam, or they are probably using SEO tactics that will hurt your site in the long run. That being said, we’ve achieved various #1 spot rankings, but that’s not what law firm SEO is about. Our main goals are to increase your caseload. This is done in part by achieving “rankings”, but also through “organic” traffic growth, “local” traffic growth and more.
This will depend on the current state of your website. If you’d like us to take a look, fill out our contact form and we’ll get you a prompt answer detailing if it’s necessary or not.
Just like any other worthwhile and successful marketing campaign, SEO is not cheap. That doesn’t mean you have to spend all of your marketing budget on SEO, but various factors will decide the cost of your campaign. Some of these factors include, but are not limited to:
We won’t be able to know until we assess your website and learn more about your goals.
Anyone that says SEO is dead must not know very much about SEO. We’ve worked with plenty of law firms that have increased their caseload through SEO and many other law firm SEO agencies have been successful with their SEO efforts as well. If someone tells you SEO is dead, tell them to call us.
It’s hard to say who the best law firm SEO company is out there. We do know this much. Too many agencies overwork their account managers and SEO strategists. This often results in lackluster SEO performance and it often makes people feel like another account number. Successful SEO as a whole is a personable field and is in the “service” industry. We are at your service and we feel like a lot of agencies have forgotten that.
This is similar to the pricing question we see a lot. Results will be dependent upon the current state and “health” of your website. If you’re a brand new website, it will take longer to achieve results. If you’ve done SEO before, or have a site you’ve been using for quite some time, then you can “shave off” some time. Generally speaking, law firms can expect to see results in the 4-12 month range.
We haven’t met a lawyer who practices a type of law we weren’t able to assist with. From lemon law and legionnaires’ disease to personal injury, we’ve seen and done just about everything.
We measure results by the amount of leads and cases you are signing up. If you aren’t signing cases through SEO efforts then we’re not happy with our performance.
To get more case signups, a website will generally need to increase website traffic. So, in the beginning stages we will also measure success by web traffic growth.
Yes! Our SEO consultants work, reside and have learned their SEO tactics in the United States. There are other agencies out there that have SEO consultants worldwide. While this isn’t always problematic, it can be.
Off page SEO refers to any SEO tactic that someone does off of or outside your website to help increase your website’s rankings for desired keywords. Examples of off page SEO include, but are not limited to:
Off page SEO is important because it helps build more “authority” or “trust” in the eyes of Google. The more Google trusts your website and believes you are an authoritative source, the better rankings it will give you over time.
You will have a dedicated account manager and SEO strategist. These two will be doing the bulk of your campaign work and who you will be communicating with.
Believe it or not, there are some law firm SEO companies who “rent” out the websites, content and accounts they create for you. So, if you ever leave them, they will not let you take the current website, content, etc. you are using with them. We do not do this. Your website and accounts like Google Search Console and Google Analytics are yours to keep.
We have qualified legal writers who write each piece of content for your website. Each one is extremely familiar with writing legal content and some of our writers are current, or past attorneys.
We offer a wide variety of SEO services and we believe each is crucial to a successful campaign. Below are the services we get asked about the most:
In our sales process, we will detail how much of your budget will go towards each of these efforts. Each campaign is different, so some may need more, or less services than others.
Site speed is very important because it is a Google ranking factor. This means Google values websites that have fast loading speeds. Websites with slower loading speeds will get a lower score.
There are tons of ranking factors when it comes to Google’s algorithms, but this is one you can directly control. We will always take a look at our client’s website speed on mobile and desktop. When we say this we mean, your website can perform differently on a desktop computer and a mobile phone. We do our due diligence to make sure your site performs fine on both.
Yes! We will optimize any existing content that is worth the optimizing effort. Some content does not need to be optimized and some needs to be removed, or merged with other content. We look for these different possibilities with each new firm we start working with.
On page SEO, onsite optimization, on page SEO etc. is when you “optimize” or make changes to your website that are fully under your control. Some examples would be:
We have worked on many sites that want both English and Spanish SEO. If you would like to do SEO in both languages, please reach out to hear how we can help.
Depending on your market, Spanish SEO has the capability to perform better than English.
Google likes “long form” high quality content that gives users high quality information and answers various questions they might have. Generally, the more competitive a topic or keyword is, the more high quality content you’ll need to write in order to rank on the first page of Google.
This isn’t the case for every keyword you want to rank for, but we’ll let you know what’s needed for each keyword we target.
Exclusivity agreements are available for a higher bounty, but in general, we reserve the right to work with clients of the same legal service on a case-by-case basis.
Yes, we offer Local Service Ads (LSA) for select clients. LSA’s are a fantastic way to get get traffic to your law firm and rank higher in the search landscape.
No! None of the sites we have personally worked on have been penalized by Google. Not all agencies can say the same and many wouldn’t ever tell you if that were the case.
Social media can be great for brand awareness if your potential clients are using the social media platforms you are marketing on. SO while this can be helpful, search traffic can convert roughly 10X more than traffic via social media.
Both! We target keywords that are relevant to you and your firm. Keyword research is important and this will be one of the biggest SEO initiatives we will do for your campaign.
We believe there’s no other marketing initiative that brings more ROI than SEO for attorneys. With SEO you are making an investment in your law firm. With other types of marketing, you are not. What we mean by this is, when you write content for your website, that is something you keep forever and something that will gain more exposure over time. With other marketing campaigns like TV commercials, bus stop ads and paid advertising campaigns, as soon as you stop, they disappear. With SEO, you are investing into a digital asset, YOUR website.
At this time we do not make social media posts for any of our clients.
Yes! We use a few different keyword research tools that help us identify what keywords your competitors are ranking for and how much potential traffic they get from their current rankings.
Some agencies and consultants offer a “one size fits all” approach for each client they work with. That’s not how we do it at Outlaw. Each client gets their own customized strategy because every website is different and may have more, or less SEO work done.
Yes! We can rank your website in various cities in your state if it makes sense from an SEO standpoint. BY this we mean, if we see minimal “search activity” in certain cities, it might not be worthwhile to pour SEO efforts there.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising can sometimes result in quick results for your firm, but it usually accompanies two big problems. Lead quality and temporary results.
The quality of people who click on PPC ads is usually lower than “organic” users. Also, PPC results are temporary. The minute you stop paying, your results and leads will disappear.
Yes, we are always keeping an eye out for any changes with Google’s current algorithm. There can be hundreds of algorithm changes each year and we will always let you know if your website has been affected negatively or positively by each one. Many times we don’t see any changes for our clients, which is a good thing.
As with any marketing campaign, the sooner you start, the sooner you’ll see results. With SEO the sooner you start the sooner you can start to reach your goals. This is especially true if you are located in a highly competitive market.
The straightforward answer here is if you’re not seeing results. That being said, results take longer to achieve in certain markets and practice areas. Knowing this, if you aren’t starting to see progress or results in about a year, it might be time to consider another SEO company. While results is the biggest indicator here, there are many other areas to consider. These include, but are not limited to:
Organic SEO
We’ve been helping clients achieve first page organic search results for over a decade.
Local SEO
Our clients have achieved top three Google Maps rankings in some of the biggest cities in the U.S.
Link Building
We use a variety of link building tactics. All of which can help land your firm on the first page.
Legal Content
We produce high level content written by writers with experience in the legal niche.
We think SEO is worth it because at the end of the day you are making a long term investment into your firm. Additionally, the leads you get via SEO can be some of the best leads your firm gets and it can turn into your largest source of leads.
Plenty of attorneys we have worked with get more cases through SEO than any other marketing initiative they’ve tried. We can prove it. Ask us for references.
We believe there are too many underqualified agencies out there providing SEO services to law firms across the United States. We care about our clients and want them to achieve results and enjoy their SEO journey along the way.
Many law firms we work with have hired and fired unspeakable amounts of SEO agencies to try and get the results they know are possible. We are here to put an end to that. If you invest in us, we’ll invest in you. It’s as simple as that for us.
You can get started with us by filling out our contact form here. Within 24 hours Josh or Austin will reach out to schedule an initial consultation with you, or another representative of your firm. We look forward to working with you and your law firm!
